Large bright room in 4 people flat share (2024)

Our spacious 120m² flat features three rooms (one potentially yours), a kitchen with adjacent small storage room, a bathroom, and a second toilet. It is located in an apartment building in Mühlenstraße at the border of Pankow and Prenzlauer Berg. We have a courtyard with space to park bicycles and a garden we share with our neighbours. Additionally, we have a small, exclusive storage room in the courtyard, where, e.g., a better bicycle can be parked dry and safely.

Your window faces east and the room has in total ca. 25m². The wooden floor is in good condition and adds to a warm and cosy feeling in the flat.

We all will move in on 15th of August, and equip the kitchen and bathroom with all that's necessary on the first weekend (17./18.08.). That's why currently the pictures are a mix of the current tenants' interior design and the rooms already being emptied out. We'd like us all to feel happy and comfortable in the flat which is why we want to allow for everyone to be involved right from the beginning and offer the free room also from 15th onwards.

The flat is (walking) close to various coffee places (e.g., Blaffke or North Andes Coffee), restaurants, bars, and grocery stores (e.g., a Penny 280m away). We have lived in Berlin before but have not been around this area much, so we are still looking forward to exploring the vicinity in more detail ourselves.
For public transport, the U2 departs from U Vinetastraße 350m away / and the S-Bahn station Pankow is 650m away.

We look forward to an understanding and mutually interested living together, such that all four of us can simply be ourselves at home. We'd love to find common topics to talk about, even if we're not in the flat at all days of the week. In the evening, a film/series in the kitchen or cooking, a chat over a glass of wine, working in the garden, fixing bicycles, visitors... all depending on the time and mood. We appreciate having a clean flat without being complicated.
There's enough space both in the flat and in the garden to invite friends over, and we're totally fine with the flat being a lively place one day or another. Some honest introspection, however, told us that we might also appreciate some calm during the work week to recharge.

We, Annika, David and Sarah, will move in together and are looking for a fourth person to complement and enrich our shared flat. We have known each other for quite some years now, Annika and Sarah being sisters, and Annika and David being in a relationship since school. However, in this constellation, we've never lived together and look forward to finding our living routine with you. For you to gauge whether we might be a good fit, let us introduce ourselves to you.

I, Annika (29, she/her), am currently transitioning to a new job to settle in Berlin once again. Hence, I can't quite tell you about a "normal" day of the week. But giving a more generic idea of my natural routine, I'd say I'm rather an early bird, either jumping into the shower right after getting up and leaving for work without further delay. Or, on other non-work days and before anybody else is up, spending time on the computer at the kitchen table, preparing food, planting something or tidying up in pj's accompanied by a cup of tea. Apart from that, I plan to join a choir again in Berlin and try to have my share in avoiding superfluous food waste via food sharing or other means. Which is a smooth transition to experimental and improvisational cooking, which I enjoy a lot, while following a recipe, on the contrary, poses a personal challenge to me. I value my home and the kitchen to be a lively shared place, in which we interact, have a chat about our days or some deeper talk over a shared beverage, but also where close friends of us are naturally welcome to join dinners every now and then. I would value a personal interaction in which we support and encourage each other, but also dare to challenge our views and beliefs. But for a start, let's just get to know each other.

I am David (32, he/him). After cycling through Europe for the past five months, I look forward to settling in Berlin again and building a cosy, peaceful and joyous home in our shared flat.
I am a curious person who likes to explore and understand, e.g., while traveling, in my new job as a post-doc at the WZB Berlin, or by getting to the bottom of another rabbit hole... Be it the production of plant-based milk, optimising coffee preparation, custom bicycle building, or carbon opportunity costs of food, mobility and lifestyle choices.
For the past few months my daily routine mainly consisted of cycling, route planning, finding food and a place to sleep. Alas, I expect this to change quite a bit when I return to work. Likely, I will be in the office 3-4 days a week and work from home 1-2 days. Besides work, I aim to establish some sports routines with some of my Berlin friends: more cycling (what a surprise), running and swimming. I like to enjoy some tasty (flexigan) food, wine, and drinks together in our kitchen or out in the endless variety of eateries that make Berlin a unique place, have a good conversation and watch a theatre play, movie or series now and then.

I (Sarah, 32, she/her) moved from Bonn to Berlin about a year ago for a job in development cooperation. After spending the past months couchsurfing with friends or babysitting monkeys in Bolivia's rainforest, I am looking forward to having my own bed again and settling in Berlin.
I love traveling, reading, theater evenings, being outdoors, and good discussions with old friends and new people. After a day at the office, I enjoy jogging along Spree (or Panke in the future) or meeting friends for drinks or to explore Berlin's cultural (food) offerings. I'm always curious to try new things, and right now, I'm learning Spanish and looking forward to picking up a new hobby in my future home Kiez. Contact impro dance ranks high on the list, but I'm open to being inspired by my flatmates ;)
During the week, I appreciate having some calm evenings to recharge, but there's always time for an evening chat or drink in the kitchen. On weekends, I'm definitely open to joint activities: art exhibitions, concerts, festivals, or anything else!

Looking forward to getting to know you!
