WASHINGTON COUNTY NEWS, ST. GEORGE, UTAH Thursday, April 22, 1965 Trccksters Down Snow George last week to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Prisbrey and Mrs. Asenith Cottam and his sister, Mrs.

Neil Adams. His mother became ill after his arrival and was rushed to the Dixie Hcptal. Her son. Dr. Alma Cottam of Salt Lake flew to Cedar and stayed in SL George with her until Monday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Cottam and family spent the week end here from Cedar City to be near her. Calvin and family left Monday for their home. Mrs.

Cottam is getting along nicely st this time. Sergeant Brigham Keith McAr thur of the Utah National Guard is still confined to the Dixie Hos pita! recovering from the heart attack he suffered nearly three weeks go. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Sprague and family of Las Vegas, Nev.

spent the Easter week end here with her mother, Mrs. Beulah Stratton and son, Rex. Foo Students Yill Perform The students of Mrs. D'On Snow will be presented in a piano and organ recital Saturday evening. April 24 in the St George Third ward chapel at 7:30 p.

m. There will be piano and organ solos, piano duets, and a piano and organ duet. The organ students are Patricia Price, Margaret Hafen and Kerry Johnson. The piano students include Madeline McArthur, Kathy Quayle, Robert Ruesch, Rhonda Talbot Jeanene Pickett Vicki Pendleton, KLynn Avery, Sharon Snow, Card Ann Barton, Shirlee and Lori s-plin, Jan Garrick. Jake Truman. Dorian Graff who teaches school in Las Vegas also came to spend a few days with them. Mrs. Marvin (Noma) Jenkins has returned to Fort Worth, Texas after a two weeks visit at the home of her mother. Rose Andrus and sister Wilma.

She was the guest of honor at many family gatherings while she was here and was also entertained by many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cottam and family of Boise, Idaho came to St. Mr.

and Mrs. Darwin Hunt and children of Fillmore, and Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Hafen and son, Russell at Boulder City, Nev. were week end visitors at the home of their parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Murray Bracken. On Sunday afternoon they were joined by Mrs. Hunts father, Sherman Cooper of Washington who enjoyed an Easter picnic with them. 4-11 Enrollment To Begin Here The Washington County 4-H Council announces the official kick-off this week for 4-H Club enrollment. There is a project or activity in the 4-H clubs for every Washington Co. boy or girl ten years or older. Four or more boys or girls in a neighborhood may form their own club. One or more parents may act as club leader.

Your leader receives help from the Washington County Extension in organizing and guiding the club. By belonging to a 4-H club, you find a way to turn your spare minutes into activity that is fun too. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Blake of Las Vegas, spent the Easter week end in SL George visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Johnson and with his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Gerald Blake. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Wallis visited in SL George over the Easter week end with Mr.

and Mrs. Archie D. Wallis. Mrs. Charley (Nadine) Randall and daughter, Terri Jean of Salt Lake City have been house guests of the Evan Whiteheads the past week.

Charley came down over the week end to take them home. Mrs. Katie Hawkins of Salt Lake City spent Easter week end with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Hughes and family.

LOCAL kzys Miss Tawnee Randall and three young friends of Arcadia, were house guests of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Randall for the Easter week. En route home they were in an automobile accident that completely demolished their car but except for shock and minor lacerations the young people escaped injury. Mr.

and Mrs. Leon Pearce of Ventura, Calif, divided their spring vacation between the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hale Pearce and Mr. and Mrs.

Walter McArthur. ATHENA CLUB The Athena Club held its spring party Saturday night, April 19 at the Sugar Loaf Cafe. Hostesses were Mrs. Famie Whipple, Mrs. Marva Black, Mrs.

Larent Allen, Mrs. Nemie Pearce and Mrs. Mollie Morris. After dinner the 2nd ward Ladies Chorus sang two numbers and Brent Snow played two trumpet solos, accompanied by his wife. The rest of the evening was spent palying rook with high score honors going to Mrs.

W. Cannon and Mrs. Lucille Snow. Recently visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Douglas Jenkins were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Gibbons of Holbrook, Ariz.

and their son, LeRoy who is a music teacher in the public schools there. He had been attending the Music Educators Convention in Long Beach, Calif. Visiting also were Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins parents, Mr.

Buddy (Vina Ruth) Bringhurst in Orem and Mrs. Waune (Paralee) Eckman in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Foremaster caught a plane in Las Vegas early Thursday morning for the first leg of a flight that will take them to Guatemala, South America.

There they will meet their son, Howard who has Just completed a two-year mission to Latin America. The three will enjoy a tour of several countries there before returning home. It will be a trip of particular interest to Phil who also served a mission there a number of years ago. Mr. and Mrs.

Glen Pace and Douglas, Debbie and Randy spent Easter Sunday with the George Paces. Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson made a trip to Salt Lake to take their son, Douglas to receive medical attention. He was recently injured in a playground accident Doug remained in the LDS Primary Children's Hospital for a week and is now convalescing at home.

Word has been received that Miss Sue Ann Lytle, currently attending USU is playing a featured role in the drama departments spring production, "Blithe Spirit Mrs. Mollie Morris left Friday evening for Alhambra, Calif, where she will enjoy a vacation at the home of her son. Bob. Miss Kaye Bruhn, currently a student at UCLA was a holiday week guest at the home of her mother, Mrs. Loraa Bruhn.

Dr. and Mrs. M. O. Hutchings were in attendance at the state medical convention at Salt Lake City.

Mr. and Mrs. J. L. (Famie) Whipple are expecting members of their family from California, Arizona, and Nevada here next week end to help them celebrate the 91st birthday of Mr.

Whipple and their 25th wedding anniversary. Members of the family of Mrs. Florence Truman, 90 year old matron were called to the Caliente, Nev. hospital on Tuesday afternoon where she had been rushed suffering from a heart attack. She had been at the home of a daughter, Mrs.

Mary Elmer in Pioche where she had been recovering from the flu. Her son, Rodney, also lives in Pioche. Mrs. Phyllis Bracken and son, Stanford went from here and a daughter, Mrs. Viola Nicholls from Las Vegas and a son, Bert Truman from Henderson, Nev.

Lee Snow recently visited with his sister, Mrs. Annette Decker in Provo. Annette was seriously ill for a long time but is getting along fine now. County Clerk and Mrs. Merrill Stuck! returned Tuesday evening from Dallas, Tex.

Mrs. Hale (Leona) Pearce has been confined to the. Dixie Hospital with a stroke she suffered just after the Mathis funeral at the 2nd ward chapel 11 days ago. Mr. and Mrs.

Leon Pearce and family who had planned a weeks vacation with them reached here from Ventura, Calif, a few hours after it happened. They returned to Ventura on Sunday after visiting them and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter McArthur. Mr.

and Mrs. Robert Pearce and family have made frequent trips here from Las Vegas the past ten days and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pearce were visiting this week end from Cedar City. WHOLE SUN, 6 OZ.
