House of the Dragon Season 1 is the first season of the upcoming fantasy TV show of the same name. The fantasy series is based on George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, and is created for television by Martin and Ryan J. Condal. The show is a prequel series to the popular HBO show Game of Thrones. House of the Dragon season 1 centers on the Targaryen empire, documenting the tumultuous political landscape that marked the beginning of the end of their rule.

The first season stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy. The trio play King Viserys Targaryen, Prince Daemon Targaryen, and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, respectively. House of the Dragon Season 1 was released on HBO Max on 21st August, 2022.
