This is frightening, something I would expect to hear about in a war-torn country, not a county or small town in the United States. "This is happening in our own backyards – not in a developing country, not in a war zone, but in average communities across the U.S."We need to improve ED efficiencies to keep emergency care available in these small towns, but that only fixes part of the problem. We must also improve access to proactive primary and preventative care to help reduce the need for emergency care. What do you think are the best ways to begin improving access to primary and preventative care?https://lnkd.in/gSNVs6ya

Global HealthCare Academy is a renowned Med-Ed-Tech Training Institute dedicated to cultivating a robust health care work force has now an office inAdelaide.Although Australia’s health system is one of the best in the world, according a to 2019 PWC report (https://pwc.to/3Si4rYx) , “Australia has a great health system, but still has room for improvement - increased affordability; better universal access; reduced variability in health outcomes given social determinants; a shift of focus from treatment to prevention; and continuously enhanced quality of care.” The critical challenge that exists is predominantly for the nursing workforce, “with an expected undersupply of 123,000 nurses by 2030. Healthcare workers and educational providers need to collaborate to design alternative educational pathways and partnerships in order to ease supply chain constraints. Investing in growing training pathways from secondary schools straight into careers in health will help to improve attractiveness and fast-track candidates into the workforce.”#globalhealthcareacademy #hcscc #health #healthandwellness #healthcare

This is a good first step by CMS. In order to create real fiscal stability for these economically fragile facilities, qualifying rural emergency hospitals must be able to participate in the 340B program.

Mid staffs, East Kent, Shrewsbury, Morecambe bay, and now the horrific things we have learned in the Lucy Letby trial. The same issues unearthed each time, system failures. As I mentioned in my speech to the Fabian society, we have to addresss structural and cultural problems in the NHS, to stop these repeated failings of care #nhs #systemschange

Looks like Florida is moving toward authorizing certain #hospitals to be designated "rural emergency hospitals," enabling them to participate in a federal program that provides enhanced funding as a way to address the financial straits many #ruralhospitals are in and avoid altogether shutting down facilities in communities that simply can't afford to be without at least emergency care. The program is AN answer, not THE answer, to the financial difficulties rural hospitals face, and it’s left to be seen how these conversions will affect #accesstocare for folks in affected rural communities.

House and Senate committees OK bills to create 'rural emergency hospitals' health.wusf.usf.edu
